LDN has developed and operates internal management systems geared to ensuring effective client liaison, technical competence and good contract control. Staff are trained to operate these systems consistently and Partners monitor all projects through key checkpoints including, for example, the requirement for a partner’s signature on architects certificates and other contract documentation.
Technical development and training is supported by a programme of in-house CPD and by attendance at external courses. Individual staff and Partners are encouraged to develop their own CPD programme and to share their expertise within the Practice.
Health and Safety issues are the subject of specific training within the Practice. A written Health and Safety Policy is in place. The procedural requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 are implemented.
All projects have a designated Partner, who maintains an active involvement from inception to final certificate. Project Leaders, normally an Associate, manage day to day development and take responsibility for ensuring that internal and external project targets are achieved.
Design and Production Information is developed in accordance with Coordinated Project Information guidelines. Specifications are normally based on the National Building Specification format.
LDN are committed to pursuing the opportunities and benefits offered by Quality Assurance. An in-house team led by a Partner, Peter McIlhenney, has prepared our Quality Manual and Policy documentation and it is being implemented within the Practice.
