Last night we were in Glasgow for the 2018 RIAS Awards event. Three of our projects were shortlisted: McEwan Hall was shortlisted for the main awards while The Patrick Geddes Centre and Portsoy Sail Loft were shortlisted for the RIAS/HES Conservation and Climate Change Award. (read more...)

Four RIBA Yorkshire Awards for Piece Hall

LDN attended the RIBA Yorkshire Awards ceremony last night in Leeds to represent our shortlisted project, the Piece Hall and Calderdale Central Library & Archives. We had high hopes that the project, which has transformed and rejuvenated the centre of Halifax, would come away with an award but expectations were exceeded when it was presented with not one but four! RICS Yorkshire & Humber Awards for Piece Hall and Calderdale Central Library & Archives

At the RICS Yorkshire & Humber Awards ceremony on Friday 11th May, the Piece Hall and Calderdale Central Library & Archives project was awarded the prize for Regeneration. The project was celebrated for restoring the 18th Century Cloth Hall to create "a vibrant new cultural and commercial centre that is attracting significant public and private sector funding and new businesses... The Piece Hall and Calderdale Central Library & Archives Shortlisted for RIBA Yorkshire Award

The RIBA Yorkshire Awards Shortlist was published earlier today and LDN are thrilled that our work on The Piece Hall and Calderdale Central Library & Archives has been recognised by the RIBA. Portsoy and Cullen 2017

The past few days have seen LDN take a trip up to the Banffshire coast, to see completed projects the Cullen Sea School and Portsoy Bunk House (and spend a night or two in the latter). The trip formed a CPD event and provided an opportunity for some of us to see these projects in the flesh for the first time. (read more...)

Piece Hall Wins Heritage Angel Award

The winners of the Historic England Heritage Angel Awards were announced last night at a ceremony in London. We were delighted to see Claire Slattery from Calderdale Council win Best Rescue of a Historic Building for the Piece Hall in Halifax. Scottish Heritage Angel Awards 2017

Last night LDN partner Tom Duff accompanied Paul and Hamish of the North East Scotland Preservation Trust to the Scottish Heritage Angel Awards ceremony at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh. Our recently completed project, the Sail Loft in Portsoy – which we undertook for the NESPT – was shortlisted in the Best Rescue of a Historic Building category. (read more...)

Knockando Wins Europa Nostra Award

Knockando Woolmill, whose renovation LDN completed in 2014, has added a coveted European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Award to its collection of prizes. IAA Awards 2014

The latest in a number of accolades for Knockando Woolmill was to be proclaimed winner of the Building Conservation category in the Inverness Architectural Association Awards. The award winners were announced at the IAA's biennial conference, held at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on Skye last Friday. (read more...)

LDN are delighted that our hard work restoring Knockando Woolmill on Speyside has been recognised with a number of awards. The project was nominated for a total of five RICS Awards, in the Community Benefit, Tourism and Leisure, Regeneration, Infrastructure, and Building Conservation categories.
