Our Threadneedle Street (Peterhead) project, completed under the auspices of the National Trust for Scotland and now in the ownership of Tenants First Housing Co-operative, began to receive deserved recognition through winning the Award for Best Conservation Project 2012 from the Aberdeen Society of Architects (ASA) at a big bash in the Granite City on 9 March. The project architect, Denis Forrest, was there to receive the trophy but needed precious minutes to get over the shock before taking to the podium. Denis later commented, “We are very pleased to receive this honour from our respected colleagues in the ASA, who have shown an enviable capacity to step outside the geographical limitations of their chapter – we thank them all very much.”
