LDN’s design for the new Highland Archive and Registration Centre in Inverness juxtaposes a three storey repository block built to highly demanding standards of security and environmental control and a lighter two storey block which contains spaces where the archive material is made accessible to the public. Linking the two is a central section with a generous entrance and orientation space, service accommodation and a continuous rooflight which allows daylight and ventilation into the heart of the building.
